Using WinSCP to download and upload files
to an SSH server

WinSCP is a SSH front end that allows easy and secure transfer of files and applications from a computer to a server.

Download and Install WinSCP:

http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/

This will create a shortcut on the Windows start menu or on the desktop.

Double Click on the Shortcut and voila, this screen appears:

Log in Screen

Fill in the appropriate information, the host/domain name, a username and password.

The Port number of 22 is the correct port to use

Click Login :

Starting Session

and this appears

Congratulation! A connection should now be established.

The user's local computer. The user's home directory on the server.

Simply drag files back and forth to copy them from one machine to another.
